Jensen's go camping

For Gillian's birthday all she wanted was some good old fashion family time. So after asking Mom if we could borrow her RV, and getting the yes from David we were off. Since it was so last minute in the sense of reserving an RV campsite, I literally choose Lake Cachuma by looking at a map. To say we had a great time would be an understatement...it was a wonderful trip. The older boys loved just running wild, and Ryan loved having full run of the RV and outside. Gillian enjoyed the nights sitting by the fire with family making smores and roasting marshmallows with the kids. But of course her favorite was having some time for good conversation with just David next to the fire and drinking our wine..oh so relaxing!

Don't look Grandma..Ryan's at the wheel

Playing with your brother can be so much fun.. especially when you are playing Star Wars with baseball bats in a field of dirt!

On the Road Again...

Aunt Cathy allowed us to borrow her motor home once again. This trip led us to Hyrum Reservoir to the Hollingshead 2007 Family Reunion. The trip started out great, Aunt Cathy had let us know that the tires would have to be replaced and we intended to do that in Utah, but at 2:00 a.m., about two hours south of Provo; we blew a tire. Thankfully it was in a very good location where we could quickly and safely pull over. Grandma Nece and Josh slept through the whole thing.
Again, thankfully Grandpa Allen was able to meet us and AAA was called. After a few hours we were back on the road again, safe and sound. So although our 9 hour trip turned into 12, and we were tired, we made it! Everyone but Rod (who couldn't get leave, we were sad, and of course he was greatly missed) was able to make it. Johnny, Laura and Sydney were also able to spend a few days with us and before our trip was over we also got to visit with Stan and April and their gorgeous girls!
Overall the trip was a great success and we are once again grateful to Aunt Cathy for making it happen.

Ah, to be a Kid Again!

The kids loved being, playing and staying in the motor home. It reminded Steve and I of our childhoods and traveling with our parents and grandparents. It was fun to see things through their eyes.

Made in the Shade

The shade of the motor home's awning and our own "Easy-Up"made nice shade and thus a hang out for adults and kids alike.

A Place of My Own

Steve fixed some netting and redesigned a safety gate to make the loft bed safe for Josh to sleep in. He loved it and had fun in his own space.

The road can get boring, luckily Joshua and Emily found things to keep them occupied, Josh pulled the comfort pad off his chair and played pirate, Emily played peek-a-boo, oh and the large screen DVD player across from them didn't hurt either!
